Dr. Michael Santomauro, M.D. is a fellowship-trained board certified urologist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1995 and completed his Doctorate in Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA in 2005. After medical school, he was commissioned in the United States Navy while completing his preliminary studies in General Surgery in 2005 in San Diego, CA. He then served onboard USS Germantown where he deployed to the Arabian Gulf in support on the war on terror. After his deployment, he continued his urology training and completed residency in 2013. After residency, he completed a fellowship in minimal invasive surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA.
Dr. Santomauro has been practicing in California for the past 5 years as a staff urologist, training residents in minimal invasive techniques at the Navy’s residency training center in San Diego. Dr. Santomauro is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Urological Association, western section – American Urologic Association, San Diego Urologic Association, and Society of Government Service Urologists. In addition, he was one of two urologists selected for an exchange program in Brazil for 2019.
