Dr. Matthew C. Ercolani, M.D. is a fellowship-trained Board certified urologist. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1996. He then received his Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from New York University in 1999, and completed his Doctorate in Medicine at the State University of New York -Downstate College of Medicine in 2004. After finishing medical school, he moved on to his specialty training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He completed his preliminary studies in General Surgery in 2006, followed by his Urology residency in 2010. He was trained in laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery at the world renowned Montsouris Institute in Paris, France.
He is a Fellow of the American Board of Urology and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Ercolani has been practicing in Florida for the past 11 years and founded Elite Robotic Surgical Consultants (ERSC), a group dedicated to delivering complex robotic urologic care to underserved areas, in 2017. Prior to starting ERSC, he started the robotic programs and/or did the first robotic cases at 4 different Florida hospitals. At present, ERSC is actively providing urologic care at 5 different hospitals in 2 states. Dr. Ercolani is a member of the American Urological Association, American College of Surgeons, Society of Robotic Surgery, Society of Female Urology and Urogynecology, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the Endourological Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha. He previously served as a board member for the Sarasota and DeSoto Chapter of the American Cancer Society for 2 years and remains active in that charity. He has published more than 25 articles and abstracts in the urologic and radiologic literature. He regularly attends academic urology meetings around the world to keep his finger on the pulse of the latest advances in urological surgery and patient care and maintain working relationships with the best urologists in America and abroad.
